Turkmenistan’s Minister of labour and social protection of population visits a DOST Center

A meeting was held at the DOST Agency between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev and Turkmenistan’s Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Mukhammetseyit Sylapov.

During his visit to Azerbaijan, Minister Mukhammetseyit Sylapov familiarized himself with the services provided to citizens at Baku DOST Center No. 1. Presentations were delivered on the DOST Concept and the digital services implemented in the social sector.

Later, a meeting took place at the DOST Agency between Anar Aliyev and Mukhammetseyit Sylapov.

Anar Aliyev noted that one of the documents exchanged on the same day in the presence of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow was the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Turkmenistan. He emphasized that the document would further expand cooperation by creating a legal framework for regular dialogue, exchange of experience and the implementation of joint projects between the two ministries.

The parties highlighted significant potential for sharing experience in the modernization of social insurance systems, digitalization of services, and the development of vocational training and retraining programs. They also noted the importance of exploring cooperation opportunities in occupational safety, social services, employment programs, pension system development, and support for vulnerable groups. It was emphasized that the newly signed cooperation document would facilitate substantial progress in these areas.

It was further noted that a draft Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Pension Provision between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan has already been prepared.

Mukhammetseyit Sylapov stated that important steps would continue to be taken to advance bilateral cooperation and that regular exchanges of experience in the field of social reforms are mutually beneficial.

The meeting also addressed the role of the Labour Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), established in Baku, in promoting cooperation among member states in the fields of labour, employment and social protection. Prospects for future cooperation between the two ministries were discussed.
