Ministry Hosts Meeting with World Bank Delegation

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population with a delegation led by Roland Pryce, the World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus.

Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev highlighted the importance of the projects jointly implemented with the World Bank in the field of labour and social protection over recent years. He noted that the Employment Support Project, financed by the World Bank, has made a significant contribution to expanding the country's self-employment programme.

The meeting emphasized the successful implementation of the Project, which plays an important role in enabling vulnerable groups to establish and develop small businesses. The significance of cooperation in improving the disability assessment system and labour legislation was also highlighted.

The participants also discussed the achievements of recent social reforms in Azerbaijan and the advantages of the DOST Concept. Information was provided on the extensive application of digital solutions in the social sector, the implementation of active labour market programmes, and reforms carried out within the compulsory health insurance system.

Roland Pryce shared his positive assessment of the joint work carried out to date, including the implementation of the Employment Support Project.

The meeting also included discussions on future prospects for cooperation in the fields of labour and social protection.
