The proposed amendment to the Law on Labor Pensions reflects a new humane approach to the provision of pensions to bereaved families in order to strengthen their social protection.
Thus, if the project is approved, if a family member entitled to a pension for the loss of the head of the family does not continue to receive his / her share of the pension due to one reason or another (due to other types of pensions or benefits, etc.), the pension accrued to him / her will be distributed among other family members.
For example, a family is paid a monthly pension of 420 manats for the loss of the head of the family, which is distributed among three members of the family (140 manat each). When one of these people starts receiving another pension or benefit, his share of 140 manat will be added to the pension of the other two family members (70 manat each).
The new bill is currently under discussion with relevant government agencies.
Another law, which came into force at the beginning of this year, gives the bereaved family the right to choose one of the two types of social security (pension for the loss of the head of the family or allowance for the loss of the head of the family).
