This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev at a press conference on the measures taken to support employment and social welfare during the pandemic and the tasks ahead in accordance with the instructions of the President.
He noted that in Baku, Jalilabad, Ganja, Masalli, Mingachevir, Sumgayit, Yevlakh and Absheron, Barda, Goranboy, Goygol, Khachmaz, Salyan regions, 278,000 unemployed and informally employed low-income people lost their jobs because of the special quarantine regime. 53 million manats will be spent for these payments. Thus, during the period of COVID-19, the total amount of funds allocated for only one direction of support - a one-time payment program will reach 333 million manats.
