The agenda of cooperation with the International Labor Organization of Azerbaijan will be further expanded

Minister Sahil Babayev met with International Labor Organization Regional Director Heinz Koller and World Intellectual Property Organization Director General Daren Tang.

Sahil Babayev, head of the Azerbaijani delegation, minister of labor and social protection of the population, who participated in the 111th session of the International Labor Conference, met with Heinz Koller, the regional director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) for Europe and Central Asia.

During the meeting, it was stated that in the past period, our country successfully implemented two Decent Labor Country Programs in cooperation with the ILO, and the preparation of the next Program is being finalized. It was noted that Azerbaijan, which has joined the 59 Conventions of the ILO, is in the process of evaluating the possibilities of ratifying two more Conventions of the Organization.

Social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan and DOST concept, wide application of e-technologies in the fields of labor and employment, "Labor and Employment" subsystem, which was announced as a "Champion project" at the World Summit of the International Telecommunication Union and awarded with a prize, were discussed.

It was brought to the attention of the construction works carried out in our territories freed from the 30-year occupation of Armenia, that 302 Azerbaijanis lost their lives or were injured as a result of mine terrorism after the Second Karabakh War. It was emphasized that as a result of the occupation of Armenia, the territory of Azerbaijan is one of the countries most contaminated with mines in the world.
