Who are considered the war veterans?

According to Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Veterans", the following persons are considered war veterans:

Person who served in the army (navy), guerrilla units, took part in secret operations in the defense of the Motherland, as well as in local wars and military conflicts in other countries and in the former USSR Armed Forces, persons who were specialist and consultants at the State Security Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
Persons who took part in combat operations for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Persons who took part in the armed struggle against gangs in the territory of Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic republics from January 1, 1944 to December 31, 1951;
Persons permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who took part in military operations against Nazi Germany, its allies and imperialist Japan as part of national armies and guerrilla groups in foreign countries during the Second World War;
Employees of special forces who performed tasks for the benefit of the army and navy within the rear borders of the war fronts or operational zones of the warships during the Second World War;
Servicemen who served in the former Soviet army (navy), internal affairs and state security bodies from 1941 to 1945, but did not take part in hostilities;
To the persons who worked in the enterprises, departments and organizations of the city during the siege of Leningrad during the Second World War and were awarded with the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad" and the badge "Living in the siege of Leningrad".
The list of territories and periods of combat operations for the territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic, as well as the list of categories of persons belonging to participants in combat operations for the territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic shall be approved by the relevant executive authority.

According to Article 102.2 of the Tax Code, the monthly taxable income of war veterans for any paid work is reduced by 400 manat.

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the establishment of the "Pension of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for war veterans", a monthly pension is established.
