The international observance of International Day of Older Persons aims to raise awareness and enhance care for the elderly. The DOST Agency consistently pays attention to individuals from socially vulnerable groups and regularly organizes events for them.
It should be noted that, based on the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1992, October 1 is observed as International Day of Older Persons. According to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 'Social Services,' individuals aged 70 and above are considered elderly.
