More than 143,000 families receive monthly pensions or benefits for the loss of the head of the family

One of the most vulnerable groups covered by the state social security system is the bereaved families.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population currently pays monthly pensions to 116,000 families and monthly benefits to 27,000 families for the loss of the head of the family.

As part of the last year's social reforms, the amount of the monthly allowance for the loss of the head of the family, like other social payments, was increased to 80 manat per family member.

In addition, relevant legislation has been amended to strengthen the social protection of bereaved families. According to the amendment, from the beginning of 2020, these families will have the right to choose the highest amount of social security (pension or allowance for the loss of the head of the family).
