For almost four months, the DOST centers have been providing sign language translation services for people with hearing and speech disabilities. When this category of citizens applies to DOST Centers, they are served through specially assigned sign language interpreters.
Citizens wishing to use the service should click the "online queue" button on the official website of the DOST Agency, select the center, service direction, service date and time, enter the PIN number of the ID card, and state that he or she wants to receive sign language translation service for people with hearing and speech disabilities.
Then the citizen comes to the DOST center according to the online queue and approaches the appropriate table. The center's social agent communicates with the sign language interpreter and provides services to the person through a video camera and monitor equipped with special software.
The purpose of providing sign language translation services is to provide easy access to DOST services for this group of people.
