Another meeting was held as part of the state monitoring of the rights of persons with disabilities.
The event was attended by the members of the State Monitoring Commission on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, representatives of non-governmental organizations, experts in the field, as well as a representative of the European Union, an international expert on inclusive education, Professor Michel Moore.
The chairman of the Board of DOST Agency Farid Mammadov spoke about the work done by the goverment to protect the rights of persons with disabilities. Noting that attention to this area is one of the priorities, Mammadov informed about the projects planned to be implemented in the future.
DOST Agency's employee Zahra Hasanova made a presentation on "Goals and objectives of state monitoring in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities, the work done." The purpose of the Monitoring Commission, main directions, areas covered, target groups, etc. were presented in the presentation.
Afterwards, a focus group discussion was held with the participants on "Mapping the current infrastructure in the city infrastructure, assessment of pilot project opportunities for the preparation of a public register of accessible routes and facilities on the map." The participants of the event voiced their opinions and suggestions on the topic.
In conclusion, Farid Mammadov noted that such meetings will be held regularly, and the commission will take into account the views and suggestions.
