Citizens have been informed about the International Day of Sign Languages

An awareness event was held in DOST centers on September 23 International Sign Languages Day. At the event, which was initiated by the DOST services department of the DOST Agency, citizens applying to the centers were informed about sign languages and flyers were presented. At the same time, it was brought to the attention of citizens that sign language services are provided in DOST centers.

In order to inform and educate citizens, such events are continuously organized in the DOST Agency.

 September 23 is celebrated as International Sign Languages Day. Currently, millions of hearing and speech impaired people around the world use more than 300 different sign languages. International Sign Languages Day has been celebrated since 2018. The use of sign languages ​​is recognized and supported by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
