Azerbaijan and Romania are constantly expanding their relations as strategic partners

The Embassy of Romania in Azerbaijan organized an official reception on the occasion of the national holiday of the country - Unity Day.

The national anthems of both countries were played at the official reception. Ambassador of Romania to Azerbaijan Vasile Soare talked about the path of development followed by Romania and emphasized that relations between our countries are constantly developing.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission on Trade-Economic Relations and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Romania Sahil Babayev congratulated the friendly Romanian people on the occasion of the significant day on behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan.

Stating that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, the minister pointed out that Romania was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence.

He said that in 2009, the two countries signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership, in total 61 cooperation documents were signed in the past years. The relations between our countries are constantly developing, and the increase of the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania by 2.35 times in January-October of this year shows this.

S. Babayev said that cooperation is expanding in the social field as well as in other fields. He noted that the delegation led by the Minister of Labor and Social Solidarity of Romania, Marius-Constantin Budey, visited Azerbaijan last month, and that a document defining the directions of cooperation for 2023-2024 was signed between that ministry and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
