The formation of a foster family is carried out in the following three stages:
Registration of the person(s) wishing to become foster parents;
Determining the compliance of the child’s placement in a foster family with the best interests of the child;
Conclusion of an agreement on the transfer of the child to a foster family between the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority and the person(s) wishing to become foster parents.
Compliance with the best interests of the child in placement within a foster family is determined by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority in the following order:
Conducting an interview with the person(s) wishing to become foster parents and assessing their material and living conditions;
Providing training to the person(s) wishing to become foster parents;
Selecting a suitable child for the prospective foster parent(s) and, correspondingly, suitable foster parent(s) for the child.
