The ties between Azerbaijan and Malaysia are constantly growing

An event dedicated to Malaysia's National Day was organized by the Malaysian embassy. The event began with the playing of the national anthems of Malaysia and Azerbaijan.

The Malaysian Ambassador, Ahmad Kamrizamil Bin Mohd Rza, shared insights about his country's independence history and highlighted the importance of strengthening relations with Azerbaijan.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Sahil Babayev, expressed his congratulations to the ambassador and the Malaysian people on the occasion of Malaysia's National Day. He noted that the political and diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia are at a high level and that the dynamics of our inter-state relations and the expansion of our cooperation are a source of great satisfaction. He emphasized the importance of developing new areas of cooperation, including investment, trade, and humanitarian sectors.

Sahil Babayev stated that the Joint Declaration on Friendship and Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Malaysia, signed in Baku in 2014, has created a strong foundation for the development of our relations. Our country engages in effective cooperation with Malaysia within various regional and international organizations, including the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. We highly appreciate Malaysia's attitude towards Azerbaijan in the international arena and its support for our sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The minister also highlighted that there have been 10 agreements signed between our countries covering various areas of cooperation. He noted that in the first eight months of this year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Malaysia increased by 60% compared to the same period last year. He also mentioned that Malaysia has implemented a visa-free travel regime for Azerbaijani citizens, which contributes effectively to the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Sahil Babayev expressed confidence that our Malaysian friends will actively participate in the upcoming Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Baku this November. He once again extended his congratulations on this significant day and wished the people of Malaysia continued prosperity and well-being.
