Young people with disabilities are receiving support

The next meeting of the "Supporting the Socio-Economic Activism of Young People with Disabilities" project, jointly implemented by the DOST Agency, UNICEF Azerbaijan, and the State Employment Agency, has been held. The meeting took place between participants of the Student Acceleration Program, including students and graduates, and "Azercell Telecom" LLC.

Azercell has organized special training sessions focused on developing the knowledge and skills of participants, taking into account their potential and the requirements of the modern labor market. In this regard, a comprehensive presentation was made on the topic "Build Your Career," covering technical skills in demand in the labor market, job opportunities, and guidance. In the next phase of the collaboration, participants will receive vocational training, career counseling, as well as workshops and job fairs in technical fields.

It should be noted that efforts are ongoing to involve employers offering internship and job opportunities for students and graduates with disabilities in the project, as well as to assess job and internship opportunities with the participation of partner organizations.

The project, launched in October 2023, is being implemented based on UNICEF's "Country Program for 2021-2025" for Azerbaijan and the "Periodic Action Plan for Social Protection and Child Protection for 2023-2024" signed between UNICEF Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

The goal is to support young people with disabilities in acquiring labor market-relevant skills, increasing employment opportunities, and creating relevant internship opportunities.
