A meeting was held in the field of protecting the rights of persons with disabilities

A meeting was held at the DOST Agency within the framework of the state monitoring of the rights of persons with disabilities. The event was attended by members of the State Monitoring Commission on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as well as representatives from non-governmental organizations and public activists.

Farid Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency, spoke about the work done by the state in protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, including the purpose and tasks of organizing state monitoring in this area.

Shahin Zulfugarov, Director of the Strategic Planning, Data Management, and Analysis Department of the DOST Agency, spoke about the work carried out within the framework of state monitoring, as well as the monitoring objectives for 2025, the tasks ahead, and other related topics.

During the meeting, a presentation on "Prevention, identification, rehabilitation, habilitation, and integration of persons with disabilities into society" was presented to the commission members. Following that, discussions were held by the participants regarding the topic from the aspects of accessibility and inclusivity.

At the end, Farid Mammadov noted that such meetings would continue, and the opinions and suggestions voiced would be taken into account by the commission.

It should be noted that the "Procedure for Implementing State Monitoring on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" was approved by the Decree No. 400 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 9, 2019. According to the decree, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population was tasked with carrying out the monitoring. Accordingly, a Monitoring Commission was established, consisting of employees from the Ministry's affiliated institutions.
