The Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency has assumed the position of Chairperson of the ISSA Technical Commission.

The Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population has begun his duties as the new Chairperson of the Technical Commission on Social Security Policy Analysis and Research of the International Social Security Association (ISSA).

The first meeting of the Technical Commission took place under the chairmanship of Farid Mammadov. In the online meeting, the Commission’s activities over the past period were discussed, and a work plan for the coming years was presented. During the discussions, several key areas were identified for the modernization of social security systems. These include innovation in social security systems, applying a life-cycle approach, strengthening research capacity, and expanding the exchange of experience between countries.

During Farid Mammadov’s chairmanship, enhancing analytical capacity in the field of social policy will be one of the main objectives. In addition, the application of AI-based tools and the development of comparative analysis mechanisms for social indicators are also envisaged.

It should be noted that during the ISSA World Social Security Forum held in Malaysia, as presented by the ISSA President Mohammed Azman, Farid Mammadov was elected the Chairperson of the Technical Commission on Social Security Policy Analysis and Research for the period of 2026-2028. This event is another indicator of Azerbaijan’s growing role in shaping global social policy, as well as the high international assessment of the country’s DOST model and social achievements.
