An event was organized for the children of martyrs within the framework of the “Legacy – Let Us Preserve Our Heritage” project.
A trip to the Ismayilli region and the city of Shamakhi was arranged for the children of martyrs’ families through the initiative of the “Volunteer DOST” program of the DOST Agency and in partnership with TuranBank OJSC. The aim of the project dedicated to June 1 – International Children’s Day is to introduce children to Azerbaijan’s rich cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage and to strengthen their sense of national identity and belonging.
Participants first visited the Ismayilli “DOST House” branch, where they took part in master classes on painting, artistic carving, and carpet weaving. Later, at the Basgal State Historical and Cultural Reserve, a master class on the art of kelağayi (traditional silk scarf) making was held. Participants also visited various historical and cultural sites of the region and became closely acquainted with examples reflecting national and moral values.
After successfully completing the master classes, the participants were presented with a motivational “Heritage Passport,” where each page included stickers corresponding to the lessons they had attended.
Within the program, an infotour was organized to the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory. Here, the children were provided with detailed information about astronomy, space research, and the observatory’s activities.
At the end of the event, the children were presented with various gifts on the occasion of the holiday.
