Future Cooperation with Uzbekistan in Labor and Social Protection discussed

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev held a videoconference with Mansurbek Olloyerov, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting noted that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, sharing a common history, religion, and culture, are strategic partners with traditional relations of friendship and brotherhood. It was emphasized that the “Treaty on the Establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan,” signed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in August 2023, is of particular importance for the dynamic development of the strategic partnership.

The importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation signed in 2023 between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the 2025–2027 Action Plan signed last year for the implementation of this document, in expanding cooperation was highlighted.

The sides discussed the cooperation agenda between the two institutions, including the organization and digitalization of public social services, as well as active exchanges of experience in the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. The international forum “SOCGOV 2026: Digital Analysis for Smart Governance,” to be held in Khankendi on October 23, 2026, under the organization of the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, was also highlighted. It was noted that the forum will create broad opportunities for exchanging experience in the digitalization of social services and the application of artificial intelligence in the social sector.

The meeting included an exchange of views on future cooperation in the fields of labor and social protection.
