Over the past period up to 250 volunteers did get experience at DOST centers

The Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 30, 2019 declares 2020 the Year of Volunteers in Azerbaijan, which contributes to the expansion of volunteering in our country as a nationwide movement.

The Sustainable and Operational Social Security Agency (DOST Agency) under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection also plays an important role in expanding the volunteer movement through the Volunteer DOST program.

In May of last year, DOST Agency and the 1st Baku DOST Center (Yasamal and Sabail districts ) were opened, and the 2nd Baku DOST Center (Khazar and Pirallahi districts) was opened in December of 2019.  DOST agency launched 3 subprograms, "Young DOST", "Silver DOST" and "Virtual DOST" under the Voluntary DOST program.

As an indication of the great interest in volunteering, including volunteering at DOST centers, the "Volunteer DOST" program has so far received 6900 applications and has attracted up to 250 volunteers to DOST centers.

In addition to the volunteers working within the framework of  “Young DOST” subprogram, a group of retirees aged 60-75 works within the framework of “Silver DOST” subprogram. A group of young DOST volunteers with disabilities also joined to the volunteering at DOST centers.
