The Children's Rehabilitation Center was opened in Gabala

The center will provide outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation services to more than 1,000 children a year

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population has opened a Children's Rehabilitation Center in the Gabala region.

Before the event, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev, together with the head of the Gabala District Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, laid flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev and paid tribute to his memory.

At the opening ceremony of the center, S.Babayev said that the commissioning of another rehabilitation facility in our country - Gabala Children's Rehabilitation Center on December 3 - International Day of Persons with Disabilities - is another manifestation of President Ilham Aliyev's special care for people with disabilities and children with disabilities.

The Minister noted that in 2019-2020, 12 rehabilitation and social service institutions of the Ministry were overhauled and reconstructed, equipped with the latest equipment and put into operation. In the first 11 months of this year, more than 7,500 people with disabilities were served in the rehabilitation facilities of the Ministry, and 8,000 people with disabilities were provided with more than 40,000 prosthetic and orthopedic and other rehabilitation aids.

Babayev said that 1,600 veterans were served in rehabilitation centers during the post-war period. He said that the Ministry has two Children's Rehabilitation Centers in Baku, which are built in accordance with modern requirements and cover about 3,000 children a year with medical, social, as well as educational and vocational rehabilitation measures. He said that work was underway to expand the children's rehabilitation infrastructure, noting that another such center was opened in Gabala today. He said that the Children's Rehabilitation Center will be opened in Shamkir next year.

Babayev noted that the opening of new rehabilitation centers and increasing the capacity of the rehabilitation system by modernizing it will increase the number of people receiving rehabilitation services by 3 times a year to 30,000.

Abdullayev stressed that important work is being done in our country to care for children, including children with disabilities. He said the establishment of such a center in Gabala is an important support for the provision of rehabilitation services to children with disabilities in the region.

Then the conditions created at the Children's Rehabilitation Center were inspected.

The 25-bed center has modern conditions. The facility is equipped with modern equipment and medical and rehabilitation equipment. The institution will provide services to more than 1,000 children in the regions of the region annually on an outpatient and inpatient basis on the basis of effective physiotherapeutic methods and using modern equipment. Vocational rehabilitation and certain teaching methods will be implemented. Also, special habits will be instilled in children with disabilities on the basis of music and occupational therapies.
