The Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan got acquainted with the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity

Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Wada Junichi got acquainted with the conditions created for the development of creative potential of people with disabilities at the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

At the meeting with Wada Junichi, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Hidayat Abdullayev informed about the state policy in the field of social protection and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and their active integration into society.

It was noted that the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity, which opened in Baku in October last year with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and daughters Leyla Aliyeva, is another manifestation of special care for the talents and integration of people with disabilities. The center was established on the initiative of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva and for the first time in the South Caucasus is the largest space for inclusive creativity and development, covering a wide range of activities.

Junichi expressed his impressions of the conditions created at the Center for the development of creative abilities of people with disabilities, the work carried out here, the state policy in the field of social protection and integration of people with disabilities.

The sides exchanged views on social reforms and future cooperation between the two countries.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Japan, the Nippon Foundation, the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection discussed the holding of the True Color Festival in Azerbaijan and the Olympic movement in Japan and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the ambassador invited the Azerbaijani side to get acquainted with inclusive enterprises in Japan and exchange experiences.

The guests were presented with handicrafts of people with disabilities and a book-album "Disability is not a defect".
