Relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are expanding based on new directions of cooperation

Sahil Babayev, co-chairman of the Joint Commission on Trade-Economic Relations and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Romania, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and Virgil-Daniel Popescu, co-chairman of the Commission on the Romanian side, Minister of Energy of Romania, had a meeting in video format.

S. Babayev stated that there are strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Romania and drew attention to the successful cooperation of the two countries both bilaterally and within the framework of international and regional organizations. V. D. Popescu expressed satisfaction that the strategic cooperation between his country and Azerbaijan, based on friendly relations, is constantly developing in all areas.

At the meeting, it was stated that our relations will be expanded based on new directions, bilateral cooperation agenda, expansion of economic and trade relations were discussed.

Ideas were exchanged on further deepening of cooperation in the field of energy, natural gas transportation from Azerbaijan to Romania, and Romania's participation in the Black Sea underwater electric and digital connection project.

Important logistics and transit advantages of the Middle Corridor project, a large-scale project with ample opportunities for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, were noted.

The issues of development of bilateral relations in the field of logistics were discussed, it was stated that the expansion of cooperation between the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the sea port of Constanta is of special importance in the development of bilateral relations in the field of logistics.

From the importance of Alat Free Economic Zone, agriculture, trade, investment, application of modern technologies, education, social, cultural, etc. future cooperation in the fields was discussed.

The DOST concept of Azerbaijan, the successes achieved in the direction of the electronicization of state social services in our country were brought to attention. Future exchange of experience between the two countries in this field, possibilities of applying DOST experience in Romania, preparation for the next meeting of the Joint Commission on trade-economic relations and scientific-technical cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Romania were discussed.
