The opening of the Labor Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation took place in Baku

The opening of the Labor Center took place in Baku within the framework of the V Conference of Labor Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting began with the reading of verses of the Holy Quran.

Considering that the country where the Labor Center, which will have the status of a full-fledged international organization, is located is Azerbaijan, the event was opened by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahil Babayev, with an opening speech.

According to him, in April 2013, receiving the heads of delegations participating in the II Conference of Labor Ministers of the OIC member countries in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev initiated the creation of the OIC Labor Center with a central headquarters in Baku. This initiative was unanimously supported by the organization's member countries. The main activities of the center will be expanding cooperation between member countries in the field of labor, employment, social protection and human capital development, coordinating activities in the field of labor, improving working conditions, strengthening social partnership, introducing decent work, expanding employment opportunities and promoting the formation of a sustainable social system. protection.

During the meeting, the adoption of the agenda and work program of the meeting, the intermediate organizational structure of the secretariat of the OIC Labor Center, draft resolutions of the General Assembly, speeches on behalf of regional groups of the OIC, presentation of the report of the preparatory meeting, the election of the chairman and composition of the governing council of the OIC Labor Center, the General Director of the Secretariat took place Center, speeches are planned by the Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy, Musa Guliyev, the President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs' (Employers') Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mamed Musayev and the Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Sattar Mokhbaliyev.
