In line with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the minimum wage and minimum pension across the country will be increased starting next year
This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Sahil Babayev, during a collegial meeting held at the Ministry.
As part of the ongoing social reforms, information was provided on the efforts made to improve the regulatory legal framework in areas such as labor, pensions, disability, and others.
Attention was drawn to the fact that more than 20 draft regulatory legal acts have been developed regarding the establishment of non-state pension funds. It was also reported that 52 types of benefits and pensions are currently assigned proactively, and work is ongoing to enhance the coverage of the proactive assignment mechanism for social payments.
The ministry emphasized that the final medical examination process for citizens called for active military service is conducted through the application of digital solutions. It was also noted that, in the past period, the available funds of the State Social Protection Fund and the Unemployment Insurance Fund have been successfully invested in financial instruments, with the generated income contributing to the strengthening of the social protection system.
During the meeting, the Collegium approved an additional 26 occupational and qualification standards in the fields of electricity, trade, and mining. The work done and future goals in the areas of labor, employment, social insurance, pensions, disability, social security, finance, and procurement were discussed.
