In Ankara, substantive discussions were held in the bilateral meetings regarding future cooperation in the social sector

In Ankara, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Sahil Babayev, met with Turkey's Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat İsikhan.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the relations between President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey are based on mutual respect and trust, and that bilateral cooperation is continually strengthened through active political dialogue, highlighting that the relations between our countries have reached an allied level.

It has been stated that our successfully ongoing relations within regional and international organizations also encompass the areas of labor, employment, and social protection. In this context, it was noted that eight cooperation agreements have been signed in these areas over the past period, and a new draft cooperation agreement regarding pension provision is currently under consideration.

During the meeting between S. Babayev and the Secretary General of the Turkic States Organization (TSO), Kubanıçbek Ömüralıyev, the minister stated that the TSO, established 15 years ago, has achieved significant successes in a short period regarding the expansion of cooperation among member countries in various fields. He emphasized the importance of developing relations in the areas of labor and social protection among the labor and social protection institutions of member countries.

S. Babayev, mentioning the existence of a cooperation platform on family and social policy issues within the TSO, brought attention to the proposal for establishing a working group on labor and employment within the organization, as well as for holding regular meetings of the ministers responsible for labor and employment issues. K. Ömüralıyev emphasized that expanding relations in the fields of labor and social protection among member states is mutually beneficial and that the TSO will continue its efforts in this direction.

S. Babayev also met with Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Emphasizing the significant increase in the dynamics of bilateral contacts in recent times, S. Babayev provided information on the reforms and achievements in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection that have taken place in Azerbaijan in recent years. S. Gardiyanoğlu expressed satisfaction with the regular expansion of bilateral cooperation and stated that efforts in this direction will continue in the future.

 The meetings took place during the international conference on "Social Protection, Labor, and Social Services in Turkic States," held in Ankara with the participation of representatives from the labor and social protection institutions of TSO member states.
