A ceremony dedicated to the anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population
The employees of the Ministry have visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor
Today, the employees of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population visited the grave of the founder of independent Azerbaijan, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, at the Alley of Honor, and laid floral wreaths at his grave. The grave of the prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, was also visited.
A ceremony was held at the Ministry on behalf of the anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, emphasized that during his leadership of Azerbaijan from 1969 to 1982, Heydar Aliyev ensured the dynamic development of the republic in all sectors. It was noted that, upon the people's call, National Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to the leadership of Azerbaijan in June 1993, saving the country from the threat of losing its state independence, the severe crisis that engulfed all sectors, chaos and anarchy, and civil confrontation.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who ensured the establishment of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan and its long-term development path, also shaped the country's social development strategy.
It was noted that, as a result of the special attention and care of National Leader Heydar Aliyev towards the social sector, significant steps were taken to strengthen the social protection system in the country, and the foundations of the social state model were laid. Between 1995 and 2003, the average real monthly salary increased by 5.1 times, the average nominal monthly salary rose by more than 6 times, and the average monthly amount of pensions and allowances increased by 8 times. In 1999, Azerbaijan adopted a new Labor Code and Demographic Development Concept, marking the beginning of a new era of social and economic relations in the CIS. In 2001, the "Employment Law" and other important regulations were also adopted.
The wise and far-sighted national development strategy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, which has led Azerbaijan towards great prospects, continues to be implemented at a high level under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Over the period since 2003, Azerbaijan's economy has grown more than four times, achieving record results globally. In parallel, social protection and active employment programs have been significantly expanded. Between 2018 and 2024 alone, four social reform packages, covering more than 4 million citizens, were implemented, with an additional 7 billion manat allocated annually for these reforms, and substantial increases were made in social payments.
In 2020, under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan reached the peak of victory. Our army achieved a magnificent historical victory in the Patriotic War, liberating our lands from nearly 30 years of occupation by Armenia.
The event continued with the screening of a film discussing the special attention and care of National Leader Heydar Aliyev towards the social sector.
