The most active entrepreneurs of 2024 were awarded

In 2024, 15 business entities that implemented innovative and modern approaches in their businesses, produced export-oriented products and services, engaged in active investment activities, and contributed to employment were awarded the "Support" prize by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).

Considering the contributions of entrepreneurs to the country's economy, the "Support" prize has been awarded for the past three years. Established by KOBİA in 2022, the purpose of the "Support" award is to recognize and stimulate companies that apply innovative and modern approaches in their businesses, produce export-oriented products and services, engage in active investment activities, and contribute to employment. The award also aims to highlight the achievements of entrepreneurs, promote business thinking, strengthen the relationship between the government and the private sector, and draw public attention to successful businesses. Symbolic "Support" award also serves as an indication of the state's constant support for entrepreneurs.

The "Support" award ceremony for entrepreneurs in 2024 was held with the support of the Ministry of Economy and organized by KOBİA. The event, which was attended by representatives of government agencies, members of parliament, entrepreneurs, and representatives of international organizations, began with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a one-minute silence to honor the memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our lands.

During the event, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev and the First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev provided information on the successes achieved in the social and economic sectors of the country in 2024, the role of entrepreneurs in ensuring employment, and upcoming innovations in the economy and entrepreneurship sectors. Member of the Parliament Nigar Arpadarai, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, and Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov shared their views on legislative initiatives in the field of entrepreneurship, the role of small and medium businesses (SMBs) in sustainable economic development and green transition, and public-private cooperation.

Following that, "Support" awards were presented to 15 successful business entities in various categories by the heads of state institutions. Entrepreneurs were recognized in the following nominations: "Tourism," "Active Foreign Company," "Active Exporter," "Successful Farmer," "Young Entrepreneur," "Successful Woman Entrepreneur," "Investor of the Year," "Disability is Not a Limitation," "Innovative Solutions," "Successful Startup," "Successful Company in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic," "Halal Business," "Successful Business in the Liberated Territories," "Promotion of Green Business," and "Clean Environment and Green Growth."

Additionally, the "G2B Service Efficiency" award was given by KOBİA to the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency’s SMB Houses.

During the event, the winners of the 6th Grant Competition announced by KOBİA for the financing of SMB projects in the fields of education, science, research, and support were also awarded grants. It should be noted that, to support the financing of SMB projects in education, science, research, and support, KOBİA has held six grant competitions to date, providing a total of 1,7 million AZN in grant funding for 99 SMB projects.
