Support is being extended to youth with disabilities

The next meeting of the "Supporting the Socio-Economic Activism of Youth with Disabilities" project, jointly implemented by the DOST Agency, UNICEF Azerbaijan, and the State Employment Agency, has been held.
As part of the project, a practical training was conducted for the selected beneficiaries of the Student Acceleration Program at the "Fairmont Baku" hotel. With the support of guides, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work processes in the hotel's front and back offices and were involved in various work activities.
At the end of the event, the hotel’s General Manager, George Ganchev, thanked the beneficiaries for their active participation and answered their questions.
As part of the collaboration with "Fairmont Baku," the project plans to organize vocational training, career guidance, and internship programs in technical fields for the beneficiaries.
It is worth noting that the project, launched in October 2023, is implemented based on UNICEF’s "Country Program for 2021-2025" for Azerbaijan and the "2023-2024 Annual Action Plan on Social Protection and Child Protection," signed between UNICEF Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan.
The goal is to support youth with disabilities in acquiring skills relevant to the labor market, enhancing their relevant experience, and increasing employment opportunities.
