The 6th Conference of Labour Ministers of the OIC Member States was held in Doha

A delegation led by Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev is on a visit to Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, to participate in the 6th Conference of Labour Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States.

Anar Aliyev met with Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower, Prof. Yassierli, who arrived in Qatar to take part in the conference. The meeting discussed the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia. It was emphasized that there is great potential to expand cooperation in the fields of labour and employment, and the importance of exchanging experience and information in these areas was noted.

A meeting was also held with Qatar’s Minister of Labour, Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri. It was stated that relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar have reached a high level and continue to develop thanks to the efforts of the heads of both states, and that effective cooperation is being carried out between the two countries within international organizations, including the OIC.

During both meetings, information was provided about the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years in the areas of labour and employment, the expansion of active employment programs, and the efforts to enhance the skills and competitiveness of the workforce.

The role of the OIC Labour Centre, located in Baku, in promoting cooperation among member states in the fields of labour and employment was highlighted. Issues related to future cooperation and experience exchange were also discussed.

A meeting of high-level officials was also held in Doha as part of preparations for the 6th Conference of OIC Labour Ministers. Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Rashad Mustafayev took part in the event.
