
As a result of the political will and efforts of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia, relations between the two countries have risen to the level of strategic partnership, and these expanding ties also cover the social sphere.
This was stated during a meeting at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population with a delegation led by Ms. Jelena Zarić Kovačević, Minister of Family Welfare and Demography of Serbia, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia are based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect, and that over the years, successful cooperation has been established between the two countries in all areas, including labor and social protection.
Information was provided about the social reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in recent years, the DOST model, and the achievements in the digitalization of public social services. It was noted that the successes of these reforms have been highly appreciated at the international level. The meeting also drew attention to the social support measures provided to vulnerable groups and families.
The participants discussed the state policy implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of demography and population development, noting that there is significant potential for the development of bilateral cooperation with Serbia in this area.
Ms. Jelena Zarić Kovačević expressed her positive impressions of her visit to Azerbaijan and emphasized the friendly relations between the two countries. She noted Serbia’s interest in expanding cooperation between the two ministries.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of future cooperation and exchange of experience between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Family Welfare and Demography of Serbia in the field of demography.
