The Students Acceleration Program, implemented within the framework of the joint project “Supporting the Socio-Economic Activity of Young People with Disabilities” carried out by the DOST Agency and the State Employment Agency, is successfully ongoing.
Through partnerships established with public and private enterprises under the program, young people are provided with opportunities for training, internships, and employment.
One of the program beneficiaries, after completing a three-month internship at SOCAR, has been hired as a Junior Specialist in the Business Partnership Unit of the Human Resources Department at SOCAR Downstream LLC. Another young participant has begun working in the Contract Management and Legal Department at PASHA Technology LLC.
Among the beneficiaries are also young individuals who have independently started their employment through personal initiative. One participant has been hired as an Accounting Assistant by the Quba Olympic Sports Complex, and another has been appointed Head of the German Language Education Department at the Edu Distance educational institution.
The program partner, the National Paralympic Committee, has involved one beneficiary interested in sports in taekwondo training.
Additionally, two more beneficiaries successfully completed Graphic Design training provided by the partner STEP IT Academy and were awarded diplomas. Another three beneficiaries have been admitted to IT training programs for the 2025–2026 academic year.
At the same time, consultation groups were formed with selected participants from among the 44 members of the network established within the program. During the first meeting of these groups, the needs related to ensuring access for visually impaired individuals to modern equipment, as well as expanding inclusive education and employment opportunities, were discussed.
The Students Acceleration Program, implemented since 2023, aims to help young people with disabilities become a workforce aligned with labor market requirements, enhance their employment opportunities and skills, create relevant practical experience, and change negative social behaviors and stereotypes related to disability.
