A regular meeting of the “Commission on Preparing Proposals for Determining the Labor Migration Quota and Coordinating Work in This Area” was held under the chairmanship of Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev.
At the meeting, which reviewed the use of the approved labor migration quota for 2025, the proposals prepared for the 2026 labor migration quota were discussed together with the members of the Commission, consisting of representatives of the relevant state institutions.
Anar Aliyev highlighted the ongoing development trends in the country’s labor market as one of the achievements of President Ilham Aliyev’s successful socio-economic policy. It was noted that the proposals for the labor migration quota for next year were prepared based on employers’ demand for workers with modern professions and specialties, the growing diversification of the national economy, analyses related to skilled labor, and labor market forecasts.
The number of qualified personnel entering the labor market increases each year, and at the same time, targeted measures are implemented to improve the skills and competitiveness of the workforce. In this regard, the principle of meeting the country’s labor demand through local labor resources is taken as a priority. At the same time, extensive construction and reconstruction work in the liberated territories, along with new renewable energy production projects implemented in recent years, increases the demand for highly qualified specialists.
Proposals on the labor migration quota for 2026, as well as proposals regarding the planned changes to the approved 2025 labor migration quota, were discussed. It was decided to submit these proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers for review.
