The “Future Professions Summit: Baku-2025” was held in Baku, organized by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population.

Held under the motto “Towards the Future,” the Summit focused on labor market transformations, emerging professions, and new skill requirements. The event brought together Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anar Aliyev, First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ali Ahmadov, Chairman of SMBDA Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Labor and Social Policy Committee Musa Guliyev, as well as representatives of government agencies, private sector leaders, international experts, HR specialists, and career advisers.

Opening the Summit, Minister Anar Aliyev highlighted the importance of strengthening human capital, emphasizing that rapid technological development — especially artificial intelligence and digitalization — is reshaping the global labor market. He noted that, according to the World Economic Forum’s “Future of Jobs Report 2025,” 22% of current jobs are expected to undergo structural changes by 2030.

The Minister also underlined key achievements in Azerbaijan’s labor market: since 2018, the number of employment contracts has increased by 44%, reaching 1.9 million. Azerbaijan currently ranks first among CIS countries for minimum pension and second for minimum wage and average monthly pension (PPP-based).

Speakers stressed the growing importance of future skills, cooperation between education and employment sectors, and the need to prepare youth for new career realities. Discussions focused on next-generation professions, continuous learning, innovation, soft and technical skills, and digital cooperation in the labor market.

Three panel discussions were held: “What does the future of professions require?”, “Skills of the Future,” and “The Future Work Environment.”

The first event of the Future Professions Summit took place on October 30 in Nakhchivan.
