Azerbaijan Career Development Forum is organized by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The forum was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev, as well as member of parliament, representatives of public and private institutions, universities, career centers, local and foreign speakers adn students.
"Get ready for the future!" The purpose of the Forum is to raise awareness of the ever-changing labor market, to acquaint participants with the professions and skills of the future, to discuss the steps to be taken to train professionals who meet the requirements of the labor market.
In his speech, Babayev noted that the annual entry of more than 100,000 young people into the labor market in the country sets an important task to ensure decent employment of the working population, including youth. He said that first-time entrants to the labor market often face difficulties in finding work in accordance with their profession and specialization. On the other hand, the share of skilled labor in the economically active population does not exceed 35%.
The Minister noted the steps taken to develop the labor market and expand active employment programs in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
He noted that the number of labor contracts has increased by 30% to 1,685,000 over the past four years, and the salary fund has increased by 92%. He said that 230,000 people were provided with jobs, 122,000 people were provided with paid public works and 36,000 people were provided with assets within the self-employment program through the state employment services. He said that 7,000 people were involved in vocational training, 292,000 people were involved in vocational counseling services, 8,485 people were assigned unemployment insurance, and these payments increased by 30%.
Babayev noted the application of innovative solutions and digitalization in the field of employment services, the importance of the "Employment" subsystem. He said that 110,000 vacancies were registered in the subsystem, and currently there are 14,000 active vacancies. The main targets are the creation of the "Labor Relations" Subsystem, the country's employment map, the registry of employed people, informal employment control and monitoring systems, electronic labor market, the Centralized Career Portal and etc.
