An event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was held at the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Vusal Nasirli, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Policy Malahat Ibrahimgizi, writer-dramatist, honored journalist, author of the book "Martyrs" Rafig Samander, families of January 20 martyrs, disabled people and others. .

The memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Speakers at the event spoke about the bloody terror committed by Soviet military units in Azerbaijan on the night of January 19, 1990 on the instructions of the former USSR leadership to break the will of our people.

It was noted that a day after the tragedy, on January 21, 1990, our national leader Heydar Aliyev came to the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan in Moscow with great courage and devotion to his family and made a statement strongly condemning the terrible crime committed by the Soviet leadership against our people. The resolution adopted on March 29, 1994 on the recommendation of the great leader gave a full political and legal assessment of the January 20 tragedy at the state level for the first time.
