Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev, co-chair of the Joint Commission on trade, economic relations and scientific and technical cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Romania, met with Marius-Constantin Budai, new Minister of Labor and Social Solidarity of Romania.
Congratulating Marius-Constantin Budai on his appointment, Babayev stressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are at the level of strategic partnership.
Noting that relations are developing year by year, the minister said that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania increased by 31.3 percent last year. He said that the activities of the Joint Commission on trade and economic relations and scientific and technical cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Romania also serve to constantly expand relations.
S.Babayev spoke about the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years in the field of labor, employment and social protection.
He noted that more than 60 cooperation documents have been signed between the two countries in the past period, and a number of draft cooperation documents are under discussion. He also said that a draft protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity of Romania is being considered.
M. Budai stressed that he was pleased with the constant expansion of relations between the two countries. He noted the work carried out by his organization and the reforms implemented. He stressed the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation.
