An Action Plan on cooperation in the field of labor and social protection was signed between Azerbaijan and Romania

A meeting has been held at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population with a delegation led by Romanian Minister of Labor and Social Solidarity Marius-Constantin Budăi. 

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission on Trade-Economic Relations and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Romania Sahil Babayev emphasized that the relations of the two countries are based on strategic partnership. He noted that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania increased by 76.45 percent in January-August this year, the activities of the Joint Commission between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Romania, and the 6th meeting of the Commission was held in Baku in June of this year. He informed about the reforms carried out in the social sphere in Azerbaijan in recent years, serious increases in social payments, the work done on the organization of modern and flexible management, transparent and operative, proactive services, DOST concept. S. Babayev emphasized that the success of those reforms was highly appreciated at the international level, and the Ministry's institutions were awarded with 3 more international awards these days, in total 11 this year. The minister noted that there is potential for the development of bilateral relations with Romania in the social field, and the expansion of the contract-legal base between the ministries.

At the end of the meeting, Sahil Babayev and Marius-Constantin Budăi signed the Action Plan between the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity of Romania and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2023-2024, which defines the directions of cooperation in the field of labor and social protection.
