An event was held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population in connection with the memorial day of Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of modern independent Azerbaijan. Flowers were arranged in front of the bust of the Great Leader, and his memory was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev emphasized that dynamic development was achieved in our republic during the period when National Leader Heydar Aliyev led Azerbaijan in 1969-82, and important potential for the future state independence of Azerbaijan was created in those years. He said that Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum, which was established in 1971 as a result of the Great Leader's initiative and great efforts, had an exceptional role in the formation of our Armed Forces, and that the officers who were graduates of the lyceum also showed courage in the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with our historic Victory.

The Minister emphasized that the return of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the leadership of the republic in June 1993, at a very difficult time for our country, at the call of the people, changed the destiny of Azerbaijan from decline to progress, and created an opportunity for the establishment of a modern independent state of Azerbaijan and its long-term development. From that time, the processes of revival and progress of the national economy on a sound basis, at the same time, taking important steps in the direction of ensuring the prosperity of citizens, and the implementation of large-scale social programs from year to year began.
