The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev noted the important steps taken in recent years in the direction of strengthening the social security system, increasing social payments, expanding active employment programs in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
It was reported that during the last four years, an additional 6 billion per year was spent on three social reform packages covering more than 4 million citizens manat allocated. Minimum wage increased by 2.3 times, average monthly wage by 53 percent, labor contracts by 30 percent, wage fund by 2.2 times, minimum pension by 2.2 times, average monthly pension by 80 percent, social benefits and pension payments by 3.5 times, More than 10 new types of social payments have been established.
At the same time, in 2022, a new stage of social reforms was passed. This year, social payments covering 3.4 million people were further increased, and 2.1 billion were added annually for these increases. manat was allocated.
Also this year, the scope of the social security system and the recipients of social payments has been expanded. Also, by making up to 50 additions and amendments to the Law "On Labor Pensions", new humanistic approaches were introduced in the pension system, which serve to increase accessibility to this system and increase the number of categories entitled to early retirement. From the beginning of the next year, the pension increase will be changed to a single indexation method, which will allow for an annual increase in all pensions.
