What Are Job Fairs Organized For?

Job fairs are organized to:

• Ensure employment of the population based on existing labor market demand and supply, as well as incoming orders;
• Provide job seekers and unemployed persons with information about available vacancies in their respective administrative regions;
• Involve participants in active employment measures;
• Assist employers in quickly selecting candidates with the necessary skills, qualifications, and experience for the required positions.

 
What Is a Job Fair?

A job fair is an active employment event organized by the local offices of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, or by “DOST” Centers. Its purpose is to help unemployed and job-seeking individuals directly connect with employers and facilitate their employment.

Purpose of Organizing Job Fairs

Job fairs are organized to:

• Provide employers with the opportunity to select suitable candidates from among the participants and conduct direct interviews with job seekers;
• Inform unemployed and job-seeking individuals about active labor market programs and available vacancies, and provide guidance on job search methods, self-presentation in the labor market, and career direction.

Types of Job Fairs

• General Fairs – Covering professions and specialties across all sectors of the economy;
• Mini Fairs – Organized for specific regions according to local labor market demands;
• Specialized Fairs – Focused on certain sectors of the economy, taking into account labor market requirements.

What Is the Initial Work for Organizing Job Fairs?

To organize job fairs, the local offices of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, or “DOST” Centers, first assess the real demand for workforce from employers based on the available vacancies.

Which Institution Organizes the Job Fair Schedule?

Based on demand, the schedule for organizing job fairs in each administrative region is prepared and managed by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 
For How Long Are Job Fairs Organized?

Job fairs are held according to the approved schedule, but they are organized at least once every three months.

When Is the Job Fair Activity Plan Prepared?

The activity plan is prepared and approved by the Agency no later than the 20th of the month preceding the month in which the job fair is held.

What Information Is Included in the Activity Plan?

The activity plan contains information on:

• The location, date, and time of the job fair;
• The number of job seekers and unemployed participants, their education levels, and distribution by profession and specialty;
• The number of participating employers (organizations) and their economic activity sectors;
• The number of vacancies to be presented, with distribution by profession and specialty;
• The budget for organizing the job fair.

 

How Can Citizens Access Information About Job Fairs?

Information about job fairs is published on the Ministry’s official website and in the “Labour and Employment” subsystem within the electronic accounts of registered job seekers and unemployed individuals.
