DOST employees visited lonely elderly people receiving social services at home

October 1 – at meetings organized in connection with the International Day of Older Persons, employees congratulated lonely older people on this significant day and conveyed their best wishes.

The older persons thanked the management and all employees of the Agency for the value and attention shown to them.

International Day of Older Persons is celebrated internationally to promote awareness and care for older people. DOST always pays attention to socially vulnerable groups and regularly takes measures for them.

It should be noted that according to the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1992, October 1 is celebrated as the International Day of Older Persons. According to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Social Services”, people who have reached the age of 70 are considered elderly.
