A meeting of the "Commission for the Preparation of Proposals on the Determination of the Labor Migration Quota and Coordination of Activities in this Area" was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Sahil Babayev.
During the meeting, the use of the approved labor migration quota for 2024 and proposals for the labor migration quota for 2025 were discussed with the members of the Commission, consisting of representatives from relevant state agencies.
S. Babayev emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev's successful socio-economic policy has created conditions for the sustainable development trends in the country's labor market.
It was noted that the proposals for the labor migration quota for the next year have been prepared based on the growing diversification in the national economy and the demand from employers for workers with various modern professions and skills. Additionally, analyses related to the labor force entering the labor market and other forecasts regarding the labor market have been taken into account.
The increase in the number of skilled workers entering the labor market each year, as well as measures aimed at improving the skills and competitiveness of the existing workforce, were highlighted. In this regard, the necessity of determining the demand for foreign labor in 2025 based on the decreasing trend and replacing skilled foreign workers with national labor reserves was discussed.
The meeting also considered planned projects, including the involvement of skilled foreign specialists in areas such as mining, scientific and technical activities, construction, and large-scale reconstruction works in the territories liberated from occupation.
At the end of the discussions, it was decided to submit proposals for the labor migration quota for 2025, as well as proposed changes to the approved labor migration quota for 2024, to the Cabinet of Ministers for review.
