
Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Farid Mammadov, visited the family of Ramiz Gasimov, Hero of the Patriotic War and martyr.
Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force Ramiz Gasimov, who had an honorable combat path during the Patriotic War, distinguished himself with acts of heroism in the battles in the Suqovuşan and Talish directions. After destroying enemy military targets with the “Mi-17” helicopter he piloted, the aircraft came under fire during its return and was shot down. Ramiz Gasimov remained in a coma for 25 days and became a martyr on October 22, 2020.
He was laid to rest in the Second Alley of Honor, and by the decrees of President Ilham Aliyev, he was posthumously awarded the titles and medals “Hero of the Patriotic War,” “For the Motherland,” and “For the Liberation of Aghdam.”
During the meeting, the memory of the hero was honored with deep respect, and it was emphasized that the sacrifice of our martyrs, who gave their lives for the Motherland, will forever remain in the memory of our people.
It was noted that, upon the instructions of the head of state, extensive and consistent measures continue to be implemented to ensure the social protection and well-being of the families of martyrs and war veterans.
Farid Mammadov inquired about the family’s situation, underlined that attention to and care for the families of martyrs is a state priority, and reaffirmed that they will always be surrounded by state support.
The martyr’s spouse, Gunay Gasimova, expressed her gratitude to the state leadership for the attention and care shown.
