A press conference was held on "Successes of social reforms, international views and awards for these reforms" dedicated to the achievements of President Ilham Aliyev's successful social reform program.

Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anar Aliyev stressed that as a result of radical social reforms, decrees and orders signed on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, significant progress has been made in the social development of the country over the past four years.

The Deputy Minister stressed that strengthening the social protection of the families of martyrs and war invalids is the main line of the President's policy. He said that by the Decree dated April 19, 2018, the families of martyrs were covered by another social support program: 18,000 heirs of the 12,000 martyrs killed in the battles for the territorial integrity of the country until August 2, 1997. The program of one-time payment of 11,000 manat to many heirs was successfully implemented.

According to the Decree signed by the President in December 2021, preparations are underway for the implementation of another important social program payments of which will soon begin. At the same time, on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the participants of the 44-day Patriotic War were also covered by the social support program: the so-called "war veterans" were awarded a monthly presidential pension.

It was noted that the social payments to the families of martyrs and war invalids have been consistently increased over the past four years. Also, the program to provide housing for the families of martyrs and war invalids has been expanded five times in 2021. Last year, they were given 3,000 apartments, a total of more than 12,500 apartments or individual houses. In the last four years, up to 1,450, in total, 7,400 war invalids have been provided with cars in the past.
